The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) is seeking applicants for the position of Environmental Analyst III. This Boston-based position is responsible for managing the Waste & Recycling Inspector program within MassDEP’s Division of Business Compliance and Recycling, which is located within the Bureau of Air and Waste (BAW).

The Environmental Analyst III is an integral part of the MassDEP’s comprehensive strategy to increase recycling that utilizes inspections and enforcement, third-party monitoring data and enhanced outreach and education and assistance. Among other responsibilities, this position will conduct inspections at solid waste facilities to identify loads where recyclables are being disposed of in the trash, and conduct follow up enforcement for waste ban violations and communication to ensure these recyclables are properly separated and delivered to recycling outlets.
