Massachusetts is ahead of the curve when it comes to waste management, using several waste bans to prevent recyclable, compostable and hazardous materials from entering the waste stream. To keep this system working, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) hired three new state inspectors to help prevent banned items from improper disposal.
