On November 7, 2024, we will be presenting at the Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) virtual meeting. The SWAC is a stakeholder group that meets quarterly to provide insight to Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) on current solid waste policies, trends, programs, etc. The RecyclingWorks team will be presenting on a variety of topics including our annual report, The Green Team, and BMP (best management practices) of reusable takeout containers.  

Steven Bandarra, the Program Manager of RecyclingWorks MA, will be sharing updates regarding the status of the program’s impacts including outreach efforts, technical assistance to businesses and institutions, staffed hotline support, resources, and more.

Sonja Williams, Program Consultant for RecyclingWorks MA and the Green Team, will also be presenting on The GreenTeam and reflecting on last year’s successes, sharing testimonials, updates to registration and resources, and goal setting for the upcoming year.

RecyclingWorks’ soon to be published Best Management Practices for the Use of Reusable Takeout Containers, developed through collaboration with stakeholders from the food service industry, will also be discussed during this virtual session.
