MA Businesses Contracting for Organics Hauling in 2023Â
In 2023, we interviewed 53 organics haulers serving Massachusetts businesses and we received data from 48 of them. These companies are collectively serving more than 3,120 commercial customers in Massachusetts. The number of customers has continued to increase since 2020, when widespread temporary business closures and a shift in waste generation impacted commercial organics diversion activity. When current customer information was unavailable (5 haulers for 2023), data from a previous year was applied. Data from previous years is adjusted when new information is available. As we refine our process for gathering this data, we are increasing our confidence in the numbers each year.Â
