Join RecyclingWorks for the 2024 Compost Site Operators Practical Skills Workshop on Thursday, October 10th, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:30 PM at Black Earth Compost’s site in Groton. 

This no-cost workshop, conducted in collaboration with James McSweeney of Compost Technical Services and The 131° School of Composting, will focus on aerated static pile (ASP) composting of food scraps and other organic materials.  

Registration is required. Priority registration is given to the following participants based in Massachusetts:  

  • Operators of agricultural, municipal, and private compost sites that accept off-site food materials  
  • Operators of small-scale sites that accept off-site food scraps, such as community garden compost sites 
  • Other interested parties considering starting a commercial compost site and accepting off-site food materials 

If the workshop reaches capacity, you will be placed on a waitlist and notified if a spot becomes available.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email from RecyclingWorks with further details. As part of the event, approved registrants will receive a link to a live virtual lesson, which will provide foundational knowledge prior to the in-person event on October 10th.
