This article from the Boston Globe describes the citations and in some cases fines issued in the last round of state inspections.  State Inspections have been significantly increased recently, and more than 80 companies were issued citations after inspectors found banned material in their waste loads.  In the cases of repeat-offenders, fines of up to $1500 were issued.
