SUMMARY:Reduce and Recover: Save Food for People
DESCRIPTION: Reduce and Recover: Save Food for People is hosted by the Ha
 rvard Food Law and Policy Clinic\, in collaboration with the EPA\, MassDEP
 \, and RecyclingWorks in Massachusetts.\n\nThis two-day event will conv
 ene entrepreneurs\, practitioners\, policymakers\, and enthusiasts to furt
 her a public dialogue on reaching the EPA and the U.S. Department of Agri
 culture’s national food waste reduction goal of 50% by 2030.\n\nThe conf
 erence will focus on the top two priorities in EPA’s Food Recovery Hier
 archy: “source reduction” and “feed hungry people.” These initiati
 ves to reduce food waste up front and make better use of our food to feed 
 the hungry can make valuable contributions to Massachusetts goal of preven
 ting disposal of food materials by 350\,000 tons on an annual basis by 202
 0\, while also helping to achieve important social and economic benefits f
 rom our food.\n\nThis conference will be an excellent opportunity to netwo
 rk and learn from local\, regional\, and national leaders on effective str
 ategies to reduce wasted food and make better use of food to feed the hung
 ry. MassDEP and RecyclingWorks are hosting a workshop within this conferen
 ce to help businesses and institutions start food donation programs. \n\nT
 his workshop will take place from 10:00am-12:45pm on June 28. You can choo
 se to register for the full conference and attend this workshop session as
  part of the conference. Or\, if you want to attend this workshop only\, y
 ou may register for this workshop only for a greatly reduced $25 registrat
