DESCRIPTION:You can help RecyclingWorks develop best management practices f
 or businesses and institutions to provide guidance on contracting for haul
 ing services for trash\, recycling\, and organics. RecyclingWorks is coord
 inating a stakeholder engagement process that will inform the development 
 of this guidance.\n\nRecyclingWorks is hosting three stakeholder meetings 
 across the state to learn about the experience of haulers\, businesses\, p
 rocessors and others involved in contracting for hauling recyclable and or
 ganic materials from commercial generators.\n\nThe second discussion will 
 be held during the MassDEP Solid Waste Advisory Committee (SWAC) meeting o
 n October 27. This meeting is open to the public.\n\nPlease attend to shar
 e your experience with these or other issues related to creating\, maintai
 ning\, or modifying contracts for waste hauling services.\n\nTopics for di
 scussion include:\n\n 	How to ensure generators obtain clear information o
 n quantities of trash\, recycling\, and organics collected and waste ban c
 ompliance status.\n 	How generators can realize avoided disposal cost savi
 ngs while ensuring fair compensation for haulers.\n 	How building relation
 ships can encourage the understanding of hauling capabilities.\n 	How trai
 ning employees\, and knowing where material is going\, can reduce contamin
 ation issues.\n 	How to negotiate contracts\, counteroffers\, and ask abou
